For our second meet the artist we are highlighting Marcela Rosemberg.
Peace Love Light recently began to carry Marcela’s products and we are in awe of her designs! Marcela is an award- winning glass artist whose Jewish faith is the main source of inspiration in her work.
Finding glass as a medium of expression was truly a blessing for Marcela. It was the key that opened the doors for her and her family into beautiful Canada from Buenos Aires, Argentina 15 years ago, allowing her to start a new journey.
Some of our favorite pieces from Marcela include:
A fused glass technique was used to make these art glass candlesticks. Multiple black and white pieces of glass were cut to make the composition. These unique candlesticks have been fired multiple times and annealed for lasting durability.
Rosh Hashanah Apple and Honey Dish
Created by cutting 2 layers of clear glass that were hand painted with enamels. 7 slices of apple in red and green were hand cut and assembled on top of the surface of the plate. This beautiful piece is dishwasher safe.
This stylish menorah was designed out of fine glass threads, assembled one by one along the surface of the glass, then fused in the kiln.
This modern menorah has brush strokes of enamel in shades of blue. Solid brass candle cups are sized for traditional menorah candles.
Beauty, simplicity, elegance and functionality are essential components in Marcela Rosemberg’s designs. In Marcela’s words, “Each time a piece leaves my studio I feel a little bit of my soul is going with it.”
We look forward to sharing the unique stories of our other artists in upcoming months.
